Monday January

Today I took my older camera to college. These were taken on the usual three hour break I have on a Monday. There was winter jasmine in flower. This is in Worden, Fox Lane, college and all around Leyland.

The highlight of the day was winter heliotrope starting to flower. Its still a bit dingy because of the frost. I am so glad it is flowering - been watching it for so long!

No winter aconites, snowdrops, snowflakes or three cornered leek yet - but some daffodils are coming up in Worden - bit later than last year. January should be a good month. Mezereon!!!
On Saturday Im off to Marton Mere with the Preston Society and hopefully I'll see a bittern and a long eared owl. Ive also been tipped off about some rare stuff at Leighton Moss in February: scarlet elf cup, coralroot bittercress and earthstars
