I took the dog for a walk today to the woods. On the small grassy verge where the grey field speedwell was, I was chuffed to find this common storks bill. When I went back later in the afternoon, all the petals had fallen off!

It's hard to tell them difference between some plants - I struggle constantly - the hawkweeds are a nightmare - don't even mention grasses, sedges and rushes, they are a double nightmare.
Hogweed I remember easily because it is hairy so it is Hairy Hogweed, Giant Hogweed once seen never forgotten and Angelica leaves are hairless.
Then I always try and carry my pocket guide to wild flowers - it is out of date but very handy and pocket size.
